A simple Yule incense

PostAuthor: Helen » Thu Mar 03, 2011 9:01 pm

This incense is lifted from Scott Cunningham's 2Incense, OIls and Brews" and is simply called "Yule".

2 parts Frankincense
2 parts Pine needles or resin
1 part Cedar
1 part Juniper berries

I grind up the cedarwood, and the Juniper berries (I use a mechanical grinder, but you can do small amounts in a mortar and pestle.
I 'smash' rather than grind the resins in a mortar and pestle, if they are sticky, try putting them in the fridge for a while, otherwise them are inpossible :)

Then blend all together, and store in an airtight container.

Smoulder on a charcoal block of drop onto an open fire.
I love the sharp, piney smell of this one.

Always learning, as the wheel turns.
