Imbolc 2015

PostAuthor: Helen » Mon Feb 02, 2015 11:11 am

Blessings to all this day!

Where I am the weather has been strange, things growing at the 'wrong' times, cold and wet in the summer, mild in the winter, all sorts like that.

But still I have snowdrops today, and bird song, and I bless the Lady and the Lord as I light a white candle on my outdoor alter, and send blessings to all who walk the path, now and before me.

May the turning of the Wheel bless and teach us all.

There are no snowdrops over here, not yet anyway.

When I was walking through the park near my home last thursday, on my way to do the weekly shopping, I saw the green leaves of what might become snowdrops or hyacinths pierce through the partly frozen soil. No flowers yet.

Somehow it made me remember that February 5th was the birthday of our dearly missed friend Jim. To see those tender green leaves resurfacing and thus challenging the winter cold to announce spring was a comfort. Nothing or no one truly ever dies in this world.

Imbolc blessings,
Morwenn
