My apologies Merissa!!!

Try this page and then you'll know what to look for when you can't decide whether to hang the washing out or not!

I've just received my Moonsavvy Newsletter and it has some interesting seasonal weather lore that I thought I'd write here so we can all share:

~ When the down of a dandelion contracts, it is a sign of rain.

~ When spiders build new webs, the weather will be clear.

~ A dream of gardens foretells great joy.

~ An open anthill indicates good weather; a closed one, an approaching storm.

~ Dust rising in dry weather is a sign of an approaching change in the weather.

Hy guys I find the best weather detector is putting your head out of the window. but we also have a saying regarding weather. there is no such thing as bad weather just a bad choice of clothing

Hi Bernie,

When you put your head out the window - please make sure that it is open first!! I'm sure I'm not the only one who has walked into a door or headbutted a window by accident! Or maybe I am .....!!!

Hi Merissa
I havent walked into a door but many times when going to look out of a window misjudge the distance, that is my reason for not cleaning the windows you cant see clean glass

Sounds like a perfectly reasonable reason to me!! I just wish I'd thought of it first. It would have saved me a job last weekend!

Here's some more to add to our lists!

~ Listen for the sound of the first cicadas. The first frost of the year will occur about three months later.

~ The sunflower raising its head indicates rain.

Am I the only one who had to look up cicadas in the dictionary or should I hang my head in shame?

I like the sunflower one. I'll keep my eyes open for that.
