I am too! It is fairly accurate, although I don't always like to look at the less pleasant aspects of myself. Interesting, thank you

We could have a regular forest going on here. : )

I agree, Helen. Sometimes it's good to have an honest mirror.

I think my worst problem when I read the Book of Changes is when it tells me something I don't want to see. I think of myself as an honest person with myself but when the I brings things up...I suddenly get blinders.

Well, I am a Rowan - others will have to assess how true the attributes are. As I get older I am less forgiving.

ROWAN TREE (the Sensitivity) - full of charm, cheerful, gifted without egoism, likes to draw attention, loves life, motion, unrest, and even complications, is both dependent and independent, good taste, artistic, passionate, emotional, good company, does not forgive.

Wildwood,

I vote for "charm", "gifted", "good taste" and "good company". It left out hard working ("motion"?) and always helpful. Where does a "wee dram" fit in there? : )

Brightest Blessings

Oh dear I'm a walnut and I do recognise some (but not all) of the negative aspects.

WALNUT TREE (the Passion) - unrelenting, strange and full of contrasts. often egotistic, aggressive, noble, broad horizon, unexpected reactions, spontaneous, unlimited ambition, no flexibility, difficult and uncommon partner, not always liked but often admired, ingenious strategist, very jealous and passionate, no compromise

If I'd had to choose a tree without knowing the dates then I'd have said I was more of a maple, sounds a lot nicer!!

MAPLE TREE (Independence of Mind) - no ordinary person, full of imagination and originality, shy and reserved, ambitious, proud, self-confident, hungers for new experiences, sometimes nervous, has many complexities, good memory, learns easily, complicated love life, wants to impress..

In St Justin jewellery listing my birth month is January (11th) and the rune is Alder - tenacity and determination, oracular, to protect and be protected.

In your list I am FIR TREE (the Mysterious) - extraordinary taste, dignity, sophisticated, loves anything beautiful, moody, stubborn, tends to egoism but cares for those close to them, rather modest, very ambitious, talented, industrious, uncontested lover, many friends, many foes, very reliable.

And in Tylluan's list I am BIRCH TREE (the inspiration) - vivacious, attractive, elegant, friendly, unpretentious, modest, does not like anything in excess, abhors the vulgar, loves life in nature and in calm, not very passionate, full of imagination, little ambition, creates a calm and content atmosphere.

I'm not sure what kind of tree I am. ... :) I certainly have elements of all these. Loves life in nature and in calm, certainly. Extraordinary taste, oh yes. Moody.. Stubborn?... me? lol. Are these lists from differing interpretations? Which areas do they relate to please. I'm confused.
Many thanks.
Bright Blessings,
Arablue.

Arablue, both Hazel's list and my post say the same :) and they also both follow the Celtic Tree Zodiac.

My posting actually follows Hazel's but goes into a bit more detail. The Birch Tree is your main tree and the Fir is your secondary tree. I've copied the paragraph regarding the fir for you. You will have qualities of both in you.

January 1-January 11: Those born between these two dates also fall under the lesser influence of a secondary tree...the Fir, whose motto is "To Watch Over Every Birth" or "The Mysterious." Fir individuals have extraordinary taste, dignity and sophistication. They love anything that is beautiful, but tend to be somewhat moody and stubborn. Though somewhat egotistic, Fir individuals nonetheless care deeply for those close to them. They are usually quite modest, very ambitious, talented and industrious. Fir people tend to make many friends...and equally as many foes...but are very reliable in character. Reserved about everything that affects them closely, Fir individuals tend to take refuge beneath the facade of prosperity, with a paradoxical need to feel free and protected at the same time.

Regarding the St Justin jewelery, I'm afraid I don't know this one at all so I can't comment.

Hope this helps.
May your summers and winters be short, springs be mild and autumn reaping plentiful.
